Should you repair or replace?

We’ll give you an honest answer. As a rule of thumb, consider replacing when:

  • The system needs a major part, like a compressor, and isn’t young
  • It keeps breaking, summer after summer
  • Your power bills keep climbing even after repairs
  • Some rooms never get comfortable
  • It’s near the end of its life and you’d rather plan the change than have it fail in August

If a repair makes more sense, we’ll say so.

The brands we install

  • Maytag central air conditioners and heat pumps
  • Mitsubishi ductless mini-splits and heat pumps
  • Honeywell controls and thermostats
  • Fresh-Aire UV air purifiers, added at install or later

How we install a new system

  1. Look at the home. Size, insulation, windows, sun, and the existing ductwork and electrical.
  2. Recommend the right system. Sized for the house, with options explained plainly.
  3. Install it carefully. Line sets, drain, electrical, thermostat and startup.
  4. Check and re-check. Pressures, airflow and temperatures, so it runs exactly as it should.

We’ve used them in the past for previous jobs and always call them up when something pops up at one of our properties. Always on time, courteous and professional. Just hired them for another complete install at one of our residential spaces.

Don’t forget the ductwork

A new system pushes air through the ducts you already have. ENERGY STAR estimates that in a typical house about 20 to 30% of the air moving through the duct system is lost to leaks, holes and poor connections (ENERGY STAR, duct sealing (opens in a new tab)). Ask us to look at your ducts when we look at your system.

Questions people ask about new systems

Which brands do you install?

Maytag, Mitsubishi and Honeywell systems, plus Fresh-Aire UV air purifiers. We repair every brand.

How do I know what size system I need?

It depends on the home, not just the square footage: insulation, windows, sun exposure and ductwork all matter. A system that’s too big or too small wastes money and leaves rooms uncomfortable. We size the system for your house.

How long does a new system installation take?

It depends on the home and the system. We’ll tell you what to expect when we look at the job.

Do you offer financing on a new system?

Yes. Financing is available on new heating and cooling systems. Ask about the options when you call.

How much does a new AC or heat pump cost?

It depends on the home and the equipment, so we don’t publish prices. We’ll give you the cost before any work starts. Active-duty and retired military get $150 off a new system.
